CAEAP is the only pure advocacy group for the Enterprise Architecture Profession. Some of the activities include the signing of an oath on the ethical considerations of an enterprise architecture professional, eventual recognition of professional status through accreditation of educational providers, and a declaration of our independence as enterprise architecture professionals (in the same way that lawyers, doctors, and CPA’s are). At the current time there are no membership dues or costs associated with membership.
HI Joel,
Not at all, it is one of the pillars of any profession. We are moving the ball forward, as an advocacy group we advocate a common ethical statement that all must sign – and in principle maintain (Hippocratic oath idea), agreement with the declaration of professional independence (separates professionals from employees), and accreditation for any certification, classes, or university that meets the standards for a common professional language, set of practices or concepts, and way of working through problems.
